The Little Prince Summary
The story starts when an unknown narrator discusses their experience when his plane crashed in the Sahara desert. This unknown man had dreamed of becoming a painter since childhood but left the dream because no one praised his work. We can link this thing to the present moment as no appreciation can shatter our dreams.
The man in the desert met a little prince who said to him that he was from another planet “Asteroid B-612“.He told him he had visited Earth after visiting 6 other planets where he met many indivisible with different attitudes.
The little prince told the narrator why he left his planet. He had one beautiful flower in his garden covered with 4 thorns. They were both caught in an argument and the prince decided to leave the flower. After that, the prince paid a visit to many planets.
On the first planet, he met a king who wanted to impose his orders everywhere. He even tried to make the prince his minister for justice. The prince refused his offer and thought about how one can judge others before knowing himself.
On the second planet, he met a conceited man who was full of self-praise and even asked the king if he was the most beautiful man. This thing made prince think how grown-ups are so strange.
On planet third, the little prince met a drunkard and his attitude astonished the prince.
On the fourth planet, he met a businessman who was counting stars and said that he owned them.
On the 5th planet, he met a man who was lighting the lamppost and was obeying the orders. This man had a good impression of the price.
The last planet was occupied by a geographer. This planet was larger than Prince’s planet and he had plenty of books on geography. This man even recommended the little prince to visit Earth.
After that, he landed on Earth and became friends with the fox at the start. The fox teaches the little prince the value of the flower that he left in his home. Fox teaches him how to see things from the heart. After leaving Fox, the little prince met with a railway switchman who was tackling the mob and then a salesclerk who was selling pellets on thirst control.
The little prince went by mountains where he listened to his sound only and the gardens full of flowers that astonished him. Next, he met the narrator(pilot) and they both started to find water for survival. The little prince ordered the narrator to draw a sheep for him and he did for him. They found the well in the desert. The prince stayed there and talked with the snake about his return to his planet. All these meetings taught him the worth of his flower. The next morning, narrator visits the prince and in the evening the prince is bitten by a snake as this was a way to reach his planet. He had a yellow spot on his ankle and fell silently on the sand.
This made him sad but the little prince told him whenever the narrator felt sad, he could talk with him by seeing stars.
The author ended the story by showing a diagram of the location beneath the star where the prince landed. He drew on conclusion that if someone met a brown-haired boy at this location, just write to him.

After discussing The Little Prince Summary. Here is the review.
The best thing about the story is that readers of all ages especially children love this. It’s a rare literary work but has attracted a broad audience.
Moreover, I loved the way the author highlighted the encounter of the little prince with the fox and how she told him to see the rose with heart. The geographer’s interaction with the prince and the intellectual opinion of the geographer on volcanoes possessed by the little prince as he used the word ”ephemeral’‘ meaning that doesn’t remain firm.
- In a nutshell. this story is a good one for children having a main focus on the importance of love. I’ll rate this story 9 out of 10.
