George Orwell Animal Farm Summary
The novel starts by telling about a farm “Mayor Farm” that was owned by a human named “Mr.Jones” who was addict ,tyrant type human.He took extra work from animals ,didn’t feed them enough.All animals seemed tired of his acts.
One day ,a pig called Old Major gathered all of them and uttered a speech that reflects the point they should rebel against Jones tyrant behavior.They even had anthem “Beasts of England”that was highlighting animals rights.
Further story goes on,old Major died and all animals seemed sad . Then,a new pig called “Snowball “carried vision of old Major and he enhanced the urge to rebel in animals.
One day owner Jones didn’t care for animals and when he reached back ,all animals tired of hunger rebel against him and made him run away in injuries.From that day ,animals took control over the farm and changed it’s name to “Animal Farm”.
Snowball was wise, intellectual and have bright thinking.He always seems to care for all animal rights.
7 Commandments in Animal Farm Book
Snowball had even notified 7 commandments that were like:
- All animals are equal
- No one sleep on bed like humans
- Four legs were considered good,two legs meaning humans,they were bad
- No one gonna fight in farm
- No one kill other animal
- No animal gonna taste alcohol
- None of animal would wear clothes like humans do
So ,these were their rules and everybody must follow them.In the tale,there was another pig “Napoleon”who seemed jealous of Snowball and always opposed his ideas.
Snowball tried to install windmill to ease animals life and reduce their work load.Napolean called this concept as his idea and spread false-accusations about snowball.Napolean had his dogs and one day they attacked snowball and made him run away.From that day , snowball never came back and Napoleon was the new master in farm.
Napoleon was a tyrant ,he even changed rules that were set up by snowball like he said no one should kill anyone except cause ,all were equal but some were superior.
He give luxuries to pigs and all other animals suffered.When windmill broke off ,a horse called boxer worked hard for it despite he was old.On the other side, Napoleon sell boxer so he gonna have more whisky to butchers.He told others animals he sent boxer for treatment.Benjamin ,donkey who was illiterate and friend of boxer deep down know the conspiracy.
Anyone who raise voice against Napoleon was sacrificed.The story ends up in a way when all animals watched Napoleon who once hate humans was sitting with them on table and enjoying.This thing was strange to all animals as this was against rules of Snowball.They were noticing and loud sound broke off.
Now ,in the instant humans and the pigs even Napoleon were fighting and animals confused on one point :
“Which of them are pigs ,either animals or humans”.
This line hits hard as shows how greed , power can make you animal.

Historical Background Of Animal Farm By George Orwell
Well ,the satire is telling about Russian revolution.Back in 1905 Czar Nicholas came in power ,fought with japan in 1904-05 and lost.This offers Russia huge loss.Then again he take part in WW1 and lost lives.
Then in Oct 1917,the public revolt against Nicholas and Bolshevik party came up.Karl Max was their head ,who believed in communist idea.
Communism is all about sharing and distribution of money in community, paying each one his part according to his work.Karl had firm believe on this concept.Then in 1883,Karl max died and Vladimir Lenin took charge as party head .He was a wise,intellectual man and have bright ideas .He carried maxism concept.In his era, Russian civil war happened.He died then in 1924 and afterwards changed happened.
Trotsky was now elected head of party and Joseph Stalin ,who always opposed him as he was also contender for seat rebel against their ideology.
Basically Stalin (Napoleon)implement many industrialization ideas but this brings just famine and a lost of millions of life in history.He bring totalitarianism,a dictatorship where govt capture all Rights from community or public (Resemble Horse).

I considered this book as it’s good for kids as well as elders.The kids gonna enjoy the tale while elders use their intellect level and learn out what had happened in Russian History.This book is for international relation students and for the history worms.Overall,the novel was simple ,short and a full of knowledge.
